Receiver in the canal (RIC) or receiver in the ear (RITE)
are cosmetically discrete with exceptional performance. Today's RIC hearing aids can be full featured with additional
programs and connectivity. These type of aids are available in most levels of technology.

Completely in the canal (CIC) style hearing aids offer the most discrete form of
amplification. Although desirable because of the small size, CIC hearing aids cannot offer directional microphone technology
due to lack of space for the circuitry. As mentioned, directional microphones play a large role in downplaying
background noise in social situations.

fit entirely in the ear. These aids can have directional microphones, multiple programs, telecoils, and wireless function.

ear. These aids can have directional microphones, multiple programs, telecoils, and wireless function. The larger
size can be a benefit especially if a person has dexterity propblems.
