Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive listening devices (ALDs) in general are situation specific devices to aid your hearing. Probably the most common is the amplified telephone. In addition to help with the telephone, ALDs have been made to help with listening to TV, hearing at church or other large listening space, and most recently with connectivity issues. We now have Bluetooth neckloop devices which will pair with your cell phone. This allows you to hear the phone directly through your hearing aids, hands free without any of that annoying whistling. The Bluetooth neckloop will also allow you to use any other Bluetooth compatible audio devices such as iPods and other MP3 players. We have similar items that will work with land line phones. We also have amplified phones that work!

Probably the next most common category of assistive listening device is used to help with hearing television. These come in both wired and wireless technologies. Wireless is the way to go. With wireless we have infrared and FM listening systems. When coupled with an amplified neckloop, unsurpassed performance is achieved. These devices can also be used as stand alone devices without using hearing aids.
